Aleksandra Krzyżaniak, a PhD candidate in the project, actively participated in the Migration and Societal Change Conference 2025, held on 18–21 June 2025 at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. The conference brought together scholars and practitioners to discuss pressing issues related to migration, integration, and contemporary socio-political challenges.
During the conference, Aleksandra Krzyżaniak presented a paper entitled “From Refugees to Guests to Family? Private Hosting of Ukrainian Refugees in Rural Poland”, in which she shared insights from her ethnographic research on private refugee hosting in Poland.
She also took part in the panel discussion “Bordering the Russia-Ukraine War – Policing forced migrants in Europe”, where she contributed perspectives on the situation in Poland within the broader European context of governing forced migration.
